LAKE PARIS HORSE CAMPING!!!

This weekend Mary took me horse camping at Lake Paris! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun! There was a whole group of people--me and Mary and Gabi and Fred and Erin and Chuck and Darla and Chuck and Darla's grandson Cody! On Saturday me and Mary rode all the way around the lake. Pockets was gimping pretty badly, so we fell behind. Everybody looked like they were just taking a longer route around the lake, so me and Mary thought we would just take the shorter route. Well, it turns out everybody decided to take a different ride that was shorter! When we were about 3/4 of the way back, Chuck pulled up in a car and said that everybody had been back for a long back for a long time and they were really worried. Me and Mary were riding for almost 5 hours! At one point we had to go up and around a really big hill. The rain had washed way all of the dirt so the horses were slipping on the rocks. It was really hard going downhill on the rocks. Pockets was having a hard time but he was such a trooper. When we came back we had chip and dip for lunch. A little later we had ice cream sundaes after desert with Gabi and Erin and Fred. On Sunday morning me and Mary were cold so we made a fire and everybody sat around the fire for a couple of hours. Then we had breakfast that was eggs and potatoes. And after that we had more ice cream sundaes :-). After that we packed up and headed home.

Putting on Pocket's hackamore for a ride. A hackamore is just like a bridle, only there's no bit. Instead, there's a mechanical thing under the horse's chin.
